About Scholarly/Peer-Reviewed Sources

How to Search for Scholarly Articles in ProQuest Databases

Many database platforms have an option to limit information search results to scholarly/peer-reviewed articles. When searching, select the radio button or checkbox for peer-reviewed.

In ProQuest databases, the limiter options are just below the search bar, and there is a scholarly journals limiter tab above it. When using the peer-reviewed limiter, also select the full-text limiter to assure that your search results contain full articles; not index entries and resource reviews. The full-text and peer-reviewed limiters are highlighted in yellow in the image below. The scholarly journals limiter is highlighted in dark teal. Most databases offer some combination of these search limiters.
